Remember when Deadpool closed down the Georgia Viaduct for a couple weeks of filming? The 2016 blockbuster box-office success and highest-grossing R-rated movie filmed at North Shore Studios in North Vancouver and around town during the Spring of 2015. The production created thousands of jobs during production and pumped over $40 million into the local British Columbia economy.

Ryan Reynolds finished filming the sequel in his hometown earlier this year alongside Josh Brolin, Zazie Beetz, Morena Baccarin, T. J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, and Karan Soni. Deadpool 2 is set to be released on June 1, 2018. The “Merc with a Mouth” was spotted filming around Vancouver and gave a shout out to the VPD.
Here are 15 locations around Vancouver used in the first installment of the Deadpool film franchise that you may recognize:

No. 5 Orange
Popular Vancouver strip club No. 5 Orange played itself in Deadpool.
Cobalt Hotel
Cobalt Hotel played the exterior of the strip club.
Arch Alley
Arch Alley located south of Hastings and west of Abbott played the strip club’s alleyway.
Coin Laundry
The Coin Laundry at 2683 East Hastings Street was naturally used as a laundromat.
Terminal City Iron Works
Demolished for development soon after Deadpool principal photography wrapped up in 2015, the Terminal City Iron Works was once a manufacturing plant turned popular filming location. It was used in in the movie for Ajax’s Lab and Blind Al’s apartment interior.
Georgia Viaduct
The viaduct was shut down for 2 weeks to film the battle scenes between Deadpool and Francis’ gang.
Agrodome
The Agrodome arena on the PNE grounds was the scene of a murder by Zamboni.
Rice World
The Downtown East Side grocery store Rice World was used was the inside of a warehouse.

Other locations used around Vancouver include the Livestock Barns at PNE, the Leeside Tunnel Skatepark as well as numerous other streets and alleyways.
Aside from the North Vancouver studio and on-set locations around Vancouver, other cities got in on the Deadpool fun:
Lucky 9 Lanes
Lucky 9 Lanes in Richmond was used for Wade Wilson and Vanessa’s first skee ball date.
Boundary Bay Regional Airport
Boundary Bay Regional Airport in Delta was used for a helipad scene.
Riverview Hospital
The Crease Clinic at the delinquent Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam was used as the tunnels into Ajax’s lab.
Hatley Castle
The iconic Hatley Castle at Royal Roads University in Victoria has been used as Xaiver’s School in a number of X-Men franchise movies: X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, Deadpool and Deadpool 2. It has also been on the small screen as Lex Luthor’s mansion in Smallville and the Queen Family Mansion in Arrow.

The scrapyard battle scenes take place at this Surrey industrial yard.
