’Tis the season for festive markets, beautiful displays and the best holiday tradition of them all—the lighting of the tree. The 13th annual Surrey Tree Lighting Festival is set to return. This year, with a spectacular 2 day event
The free festival will take place at Surrey Civic Plaza. It will span over 2 days on Saturday, November 25 to Sunday, November 26 from 12 pm to 8 pm.
Surrey Tree Lighting 2023
The enchanting tree lighting ceremony is set for Saturday, and the festival will carry on through Sunday. The tree will stay beautifully lit until January 2024.
Presented by Concord Pacific, this year’s event will feature holiday choirs, a Nutcracker ballet recital, holiday singalongs with Belle and Cinderella. In addition, there will be dance battles, an abundance of performances by local performers, photo opportunities, and festive giveaways.
Attractions
The 60-foot tree is the main attraction, but there’s plenty of other family-friendly activities to take part in as well.
Visitors can take free photos with Santa Claus himself, shop at an expanded holiday market, experience free amusement rides, and enjoy a series of live entertainment. There will also be a Candy Cane Dance Tent, and local holiday-themed food trucks.
For the first time, the City has launched a reservation system for photos with Santa to provide a smoother experience and shorter wait times for attendees. The .

Live Performances
More than 20 local performers, choirs, holiday groups and children’s acts will offer free live performances. You can find them throughout the two days on the Snowflake Stage and North Pole Stage.
Performers will include Warren Dean Flandez, Come Fly with Me: Michael Bublé Tribute, Merry & Bright, Pat Chessell and Friends, Josh Bogert, Á’a:líya, and Phat Santa Swing.
