Surrey Fusion Festival

One of Surrey’s largest (and most vibrant) celebrations is set to return for one weekend only this summer. 

The 15th annual Surrey Fusion Festival will bring live entertainment, dance battles, food and more to Holland Park from Saturday, July 23 to Sunday, July 24. And the best part is, admission is free.

It’s serving up cuisine from around the world.

This year’s festival kicks off at 11 a.m. and runs all day through 10 p.m.

Here’s what to expect:

Live Entertainment

Spectators can enjoy a variety of performers, including Surrey R&B duo MANILA GREY and Canadian hip-hop artist Shad on Saturday.

On Sunday, Indian-Punjabi singer Sharry Mann and Surrey-based Zora Randhawa will headline the festival.

Surrey Fusion Festival Activities + Stages

Experience free music and dance performances across Surrey Fusion Festival’s many stages:

Concord Pacific World Music Stage

Located on the Great Lawn, the World Music Stage showcases rising local and international talent, as well as headliner performances.

SFU Celebration Stage

The Celebration Stage is located within the fountain area at Holland Park. This stage features traditional cultural performances, as well as contemporary performances by rising local artists.

Siam Stage

Located in the Indigenous Village, Siam means “Respected Ones” in Coast Salish languages. It features traditional cultural sharing, dance, and contemporary performances.

Unity Stage

New this year, the Unity Stage will showcase Surrey-based performers, local talent and performances by Surrey Fusion Festival’s cultural pavilions.

Dished Global Beer & Wine Tasting Stage

Listen to local live music while enjoying cold beverages in the Global Beer & Wine Tasting tent.

Indigenous Village

Discover Indigenous cultures through education, workshops, cultural sharing and contemporary performances: 

Siam Stage 

Meaning “Respected Ones” in Coast Salish languages, the new Siam Stage will feature Indigenous cultural sharing and contemporary music performances.

Residential School Sharing Circles 

The Indian Residential School Survivors Society has partnered with the Indigenous Village to host “Sharing Circles”. Here, the public is invited to participate in discussions with residential school survivors to learn first-hand about the hardships they lived through while attending the schools.

Residential School Transformation Mural Painting with Brad Henry 

This project began on Surrey Canada Day and will be completed at the Surrey Fusion Festival in honour of residential school survivors and the children who never made it home.

Brad Henry is a traditional northwest coast Tlingit artist whose art can be found all around the globe.

Learn How to Make a Ribbon Skirt using the Kokum Scarf Material 

The sunflower is the National flower of Ukraine. It is a symbol of solidarity and peace. When Ukrainian immigrants settled in Canada they gifted “Cree” First Nations grandmothers with their bright floral pattern scarves. 

Visit the Indigenous Village to learn how to use the “Kokum Scarf Material” to demonstrate how to make a ribbon skirt and recognize the relationship established between the Indigenous and Ukrainian people.

Indigenous Market 

Shop authentic Indigenous artwork, products and crafts. Market vendors will be announced soon.

Cultural Cooking Arena

Watch Surrey youth compete in cooking competitions, as well as professional chefs teaching the public how to make delicious and authentic dishes.

Dance Battles

Head on over to the KPU Community Dance Stage, formerly known as the Community Stage. This stage has been expanded to include cultural dance lessons and dance battles. Catch some shade under the Community Dance Stage tent, and learn some new moves.

Pavilions

Try delicious, , including the Global Beer & Wine Tasting area, featuring beverages from around the world. 

Alcoholic beverages can be purchased between 12:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. each day. Two drinks can be served per person at one time. 

Transportation

Surrey Fusion Festival will take place at Holland Park (13428 Old Yale Road).

Transit

The park is located directly across from King George Station, and a short walk from Surrey Central Station. Furthermore, the closest bus loop to the site is located at Surrey Central Exchange, one block away.

Parking

There will be a limited amount of parking spots available near Holland Park. If you plan to drive, attendees can park at Surrey City Hall (13450 104 Ave). Parking underground at City Hall is $1.50 per hour or a $4.00 weekend flat rate for a maximum of 12 hours.
